Early software development
The Virtual Electronic Platform has been used for debug/unit-testing of microcontroller device drivers for the Punch Electronic Platform.
While conventional design flow requires microcontroller evaluation board, Mini-HIL benches equipped with FPGA to provide digital stimuli, tool for flashing and Debuggers, The Virtual Electronic Platform replaces the above-described system and solve critical issues like:
- Availability of benches/evaluation boards
- Specific competencies to customize benches/FPGA for the specific applications
- Lack of harmonization/interoperability between the different tools
Usage of The Virtual Electronic Platform allowed to start software development 9 months in advance, resulting in 90%-95% software feature completeness prior to physical hardware availability.
